BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has called for peace rather than destruction, emphasising the importance of working towards fulfilling the dreams of the youth, who she described as the future of the country.

Addressing a BNP rally virtually from Nayapaltan on Wednesday at around 4:30 pm, Khaleda Zia said, "We do not want destruction; we want peace. The youth are our future. We must work to realise their dreams."

She further added, "This victory has brought us to a new struggle. Now, we must work to build a prosperous Bangladesh. Let us empower our youth."

The rally began earlier in the day at around 2:45 pm in front of the central office with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an. A moment of silence was observed to honour students who lost their lives in the Anti-discrimination Student Movement and political activists.

The event was presided over by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, with initial speeches given by BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman. BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman delivered the keynote address virtually.
