The Higher Secondary Certificate, or HSC, and equivalent examinations, which were postponed due to the violence surrounding the quota reform movement, will now resume in the second week of September.

Tapan Kumar Sarker, chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and head of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, informed on Tuesday evening that preparations were underway to begin the exams.

“Since the questions have been burned, it will take some time to prepare new ones,” said Tapan.

The exams will be conducted with full marks according to the 2024 syllabus, he added.

The exams were initially scheduled to start on Aug 11, but following the unrest that followed the government’s fall, several exam centres were damaged and question papers burned.

This led the Ministry of Education to postpone the exams.
