Total number of Bangladeshis who have been granted Permanent Resident (PR) status in Canada has been declining for the last couple of years.
Canadian official statistics showed that in 2015 some 3,305 Bangladeshi citizens got PR status in Canada which came down to 3,230 in 2016 and further declined to 3,185 in 2017.
It also showed that in 2015 some 271,830 people across the world received the PR status in Canada which increased to 296,735 in 2016 but decreased to 286,465 in the past year.
Again, during the first quarter of the current year, some 485 Bangladeshi got PR status in Canada.
