President goes to Kishoreganj Monday on five-day visit

President M Abdul Hamid will visit his home district Kishoreganj on September 24-28 to attend several programmes at Austagram, Itna and Mithamain upazilas.

“The President will leave for Kishoreganj on a five-day visit tomorrow noon. . . He will address several public gatherings at three upazila headquarters,” his press secretary Joynal Abedin said.

This will be the second visit of Abdul Hamid to his village home in the remote area of Kishoreganj after he took oath of office as the country’s President for the second consecutive term on April 24, reports BSS.

President Hamid is due to attend a public meeting at Austagram Upazila Playground at about 3:00pmon September 24. Later he will hold a view-exchange meeting with local political leaders, distinguished persons and media personalities at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium there at 4:00pm on the day.

On Tuesday, he will witness the progress of development works of Austagram-Nawga and Austagram-Kastul-Banshtala Roads at 11:00am. He will address a public gathering at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Government College Ground, Austagram. He will exchange views with local elite at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium at 7:00pm.

President Hamid is scheduled to see Itna-Zila road at 11:00am in Itna Upazila on Wednesday. He will address a public meeting at the Freedom Fighter Abdul Haque Government Degree College field at 3:00pm on the third day of his visit. He will exchange views with distinguished people at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium in Itna.

On Thursday, he will visit some development works at Mithamain Upazila at 12:00pm. In the afternoon, he will attend Golden Jubilee program of Hazi Tayeb Uddin School at 3 pm. He will stay at his own home in the night.

On Friday, President Hamid will say Jumma prayers at the mosque adjoining his ancestral home at Kamalpur village in Mithamain Upazila. After the prayers, he will offer fateha at the graves of his father Md Tayebuddin and mother Tomiza Khatun in front of the mosque.

The President is due to return to Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
