President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed profound shock at the loss of lives of many people in a fire in Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka.
They conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls.
The president and the prime minister asked all concerned authorities to provide proper treatment to the injured persons and necessary support to the families of the deceased, BSS reports.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence the death toll from the fire caught last night in a chemical warehouse jumped to 70 till this morning.
