President, PM mourn death of Kuwait's Emir

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Emir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In a condolence message sent to Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Emir of State of Kuwait, Bangladesh President said his contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait as well as the development of the Islamic world will be remembered for long.

The head of state wished peace, development and progress of the people of Kuwait and hoped that the cooperation between the two countries would be strengthened in the days to come.

President Shahabuddin prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and the people of the country.

In a separate condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the demise of Kuwait Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

In a signed letter to Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, she said, “The brotherly people and the Government of Bangladesh join me in expressing our profound condolences and sorrow to the brotherly people of Kuwait and heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved members of the Royal family for the irreparable loss.”

“I pray to Allah (SWT) to grant him the best place in Jannah.”

She said that Sheikh Nawaf was a committed, dynamic, and visionary leader of the global stature of this time.

“He certainly left a legacy of dedication, sacrifice, and achievements for the world to pursue. A grand champion of the cause of the Arab and Muslim Ummah, he was a trusted and generous friend of Bangladesh.”

She recalled the Emir’s immense contributions to the welfare of the Bangladeshi expatriate community living in Kuwait, reports UNB.

“I also remember his enthusiasm and sincere efforts to advance Bangladesh-Kuwait bilateral relations. I believe the late Emir will be remembered for his enduring humanitarian efforts and leadership in the Middle East and beyond.”

The Bangladeshi Prime Minister wished Kuwaiti Prime Minister good health, personal well-being, and happiness and the brotherly people of Kuwait continued peace, progress, and prosperity.

Sheikh Hasina looks forward to working together with Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah towards achieving strong collaboration for the mutual benefit of the two brotherly people of Bangladesh and Kuwait.
