President reaches Kishoreganj on five-day visit

President Md Abdul Hamid reached Kishoreganj on a five-day tour to attend several programmes in his home district.

This is the second visit of Abdul Hamid to his village home in the remote area of Kishoreganj after he took oath of office as the country’s President for the second consecutive term on April 24, reports BSS.

President Hamid landed at a helipad ground in Austagram Upazila of Kishoreganj at about 2 pm by a helicopter.

He was received by local political leaders and senior officials of the district administration by presenting a bouquet.

Local political leaders including lawmaker Rezwan Ahmed Taufiq, senior civil and military officials and secretaries concerned to Bangabhaban are accompanying the President during his visit.

President Hamid is expected to attend a public rally at Austagram Upazila Playground on Monday afternoon.

He will also hold a view-exchange meeting with local political leaders, distinguished persons and journalists at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium in Austogram this evening.

On Tuesday, the President will witness the progress of development works of Austagram-Nawga and Austagram-Kastul-Banshtala Roads at 11 am.

He will address a rally at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Government College Ground, Austagram.

Abdul Hamid will exchange views with local political leaders and others at Rastropati Abdul Hamid Auditorium at 7 pm on Tuesday.

Abdul Hamid is scheduled to visit a development work in Itna Upazila on Wednesday morning.

He will address a public rally at the Freedom Fighter Abdul Haque Government Degree College ground at 3 pm on Wednesday.

The President will exchange views with distinguished people, local public representatives and others at on Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, he will visit some development works at Mithamain Upazila at 12 pm.

In the afternoon, the President will attend the Golden Jubilee celebration programme of Hazi Tayeb Uddin School at 3 pm.

He will stay at his own home in the night.

On Friday, President Hamid will offer Jumma prayers at the mosque adjoining his ancestral home at Kamalpur village in Mithamain Upazila.

After the prayers, he will offer fateha at the graves of his father Md Tayebuddin and mother Tomiza Khatun in front of the mosque.

The President will return to Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
