Primary schools not reopening Sunday

Government primary schools across the country will not reopen on Sunday, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said in a statement on Saturday.

The schools will remain closed until further notice, the ministry said.

The Primary and Mass Education Ministry and the Directorate of Primary Education on July 31 made a joint decision to reopen primary schools across the country, except for those located within the 12 city corporations and the Narsingdi municipality area, on Sunday (August 4).

Following clashes during the protests demanding quota reforms, primary schools were indefinitely closed on July 17 to ensure the safety of students.
