Probashi Kallyan Bank disburses Tk 20.81 billion as loans till June 13

Probashi Kallyan Bank (PKB) has disbursed Tk 20.81 billion as loans since its establishment.
The bank disbursed the loans among around 114,000 expatriate workers till June 13 this year for their migration purposes.
Expatriates’ Welfare Minister Imran Ahmad gave the information on Monday while replying to a tabled question in the parliament, reports UNB.
In reply to another question, the minister told the parliament that around 1.07 million workers went abroad for employment till June of the current fiscal (2022-23).
A total of 970,000 workers went abroad during the same period of last fiscal year. The number of outgoing workers is 15.59 per cent more than the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In response to another query, the minister said that there is a plan to sign agreements with new countries for manpower export.
He also said that process is underway to sign agreements with Libya, Malta, Albania, Romania and Serbia in this regard.
