On Monday, the ruling Awami League-led 14-party alliance unanimously agreed on banning Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing for their alleged involvement in anti-state activities.
The party faces its second ban in over 50 years after its initial prohibition in 1972 for 'misusing religion for political purposes.'
