Professor Nazmul Hossain has been appointed Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The Health Education and Family Welfare Division under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued an official order regarding the appointment on Thursday.
Nazmul is currently serving as the Acting Director General of the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME). He will continue to hold this position in addition to his new responsibilities as the DG of DGHS, until further notice, according to the official statement.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Nazmul Hossain served as a Professor in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
The order, issued in the public interest, takes immediate effect, UNB reports.
