Shammo's fellows besieged Shahbagh Police Station again, demanding immediate arrest of the main killers and their trial.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the agitating students along with their teachers discussed the issue with police.
Earlier, the students gathered in front of Raju Sculpture at 11:30pm. Shammo's family members, DU Vice-chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmad and some teachers were present.
Shariful Alam Saikat, Shammo's elder brother, said that there are many CCTV cameras around the spot that Shammo was murdered.
It should be very easy to identify Shammo's killers through checking the footage. But, the administration has not done it yet, he regrets.
During a meeting with student representatives and the DU authorities, the home adviser assured them of handing over the murder case to the CID.
Earlier on Friday, they besieged the police station and issued a 48-hour ultimatum for arrest of all culprits of the murder.
