Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan has urged the protesting students not to block roads unnecessarily in their demand to reform the quota system in government jobs.

Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Thursday, the minister emphasised that many students have begun taking to the streets, attempting to disrupt public order. He said many have started running to use the students, trying to muddy the waters.

He urged the students to return to their respective campuses, stating, "Students are crossing limits."

The minister's comments came amidst the ongoing protests by students advocating for the abolishment of quota reservations.

Addressing the media, Asaduzzaman Khan highlighted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had annulled quota reservations in 2018. However, recent directives from the High Court have prompted students to believe otherwise, leading them to take to the streets.

The minister expressed disappointment over the students' actions, asserting that they are the nation's future leaders and should not engage in activities that cause inconvenience or harm to the public.

He reassured that the government is willing to listen to their concerns within limits, which the students have exceeded.
