Ten representatives of students and job seekers calling for the reform of the quota system in public service are heading to Bangabhaban to meet the President with a memorandum.
During this time, the rest of the students will remain on the road from the Secretariat to Zero Point, according to the leaders of the anti-discrimination student movement, local media reports.
The students began marching at noon from Dhaka University and took a stand at Zero Point around 1:10 pm. They also demanded the withdrawal of a case filed by a police officer, giving a 24-hour ultimatum and denouncing the case as ‘false and fabricated’.
Students from several educational institutions in the capital, including Dhaka University, Jagannath University, and Dhaka College, participated in the march.
