RAB arrests man with phensedyl in Chattogram

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man along with 442 bottles of Phensedyl from a truck on Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Dakkhin Mahadeb in Sitakunda upazila of the port city in the early hours of Thursday.

The arrestee Nazrul Islam, son of Gafur Munshi of Shibchar in Madaripur district, is a stone trader.

Tipped off, a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a Chattogram-bound truck at around 2:30am, UNB reported citing a press release issued by RAB headquarters.

Later, the elite force recovered the contraband item worth Tk 4.42 lakh from inside the truck and arrested Nazrul while the driver and his helper managed to flee the scene.
