RAB detains seven ‘muggers ‘in city

Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested seven suspected muggers from Mohammadpur area in the city on Wednesday night.

The arrestees were Md Shahidul Islam, hailing from Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur, Md Rahman, hailing from Kamrangir Char, Md Sujon, Md Tosif, Md Abdur Rahman, Md Sayed and Md Saju, residents of Geneva Camp of Mohamamdpur.

Acting on tip-off that a gang of muggers was taking preparation to commit mugging on Gaznobi road in Mohammadpur, a team of Rab-2 conducted a drive there around 7:30pm and arrested the seven muggers.

RAB recovered locally made weapons ,three knives and a mobile hand set from the detainee's possession ,according to UNB.
