Eminent Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad was laid to eternal rest at Tajmahal Road graveyard in the capital's Mohammadpur area following a namaz-e-janaza at the graveyard mosque after Zohr prayers on Thursday.

He was buried at the grave of his parents there, reports BSS.

A good number of people from the cultural arena, well-wishers, admirers, and locals joined the namaz-e-janaza.

Said Mohammad passed away on Wednesday evening.

Family sources said Sadi was practicing music with his Tanpura in a room at his residence. Suddenly, Sadi's younger brother classical dancer Shibli Mohammad noticed that the door had been locked. After breaking the door, he found the singer's lifeless body hanging from ceiling fan.

Sadi Mohammad served as the director of the cultural organisation Rabi Raag.

Sadi, who pursued his studies in Rabindra Sangeet at Visva-Bharati University in India, was the son of Liberation War martyr Salimullah and Jebunnesa Salimullah.
