Train operations are set to resume on Wednesday morning as railways running staff members have withdrawn their strike.
The announcement came in a joint statement after a meeting at the house of Railways Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan in the early hours of Wednesday.
The running staff members withdrew their strike after assurances that all their demands, including running allowance and pension benefits, would be met, the Advisor said.
Under the banner of Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Sramik Karmachari Samity, running staffers started an indefinite strike early Tuesday, bringing train services to a halt across the country.
