Rain, lightning flashes likely in parts of country

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted that rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind will occur in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours, commencing at 9:00 am today (Saturday).

"Rain/thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur and Sylhet divisions and one or two places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Dhaka divisions," said a Met Office press release.

The Met Office said the weather may remain mainly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere in the country.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, reports BSS.

The country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 35.5 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in the Khulna division and Sandwip in the Chattogram division, and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in the Rangpur division.

The sun sets today at 6:19 pm and rises at 5:39 am tomorrow in the capital.
