Authorities of different organisations operating in the 15-storey BGMEA headquarters have been given additional time to remove their goods from the building the day after it was sealed off for demolition.
The building's doors were unlocked by the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (RAJUK) , around 9am on Thursday at the request of the business owners.
Later, different organisations were seen loading their goods on trucks, reports bdnews24.com.
RAJUK Chief Engineer ASM Raihanul Ferdous said that a few office holders were unable to clear their offices by the time the illegally constructed building was sealed off on Tuesday evening.
They have been given until 5pm to vacate the building.
"We have opened the building for those who sought a chance to remove their goods. They have the whole day today to shift their belongings,” said RAJUK Director Waliur Rahman.
“But if they're unable to vacate the building by today, we will give them until April 24 upon request."
