A retired police officer was killed in a road accident when a bus hit him at the Ekkta Kacha Bazar area of Magura district town on Saturday evening.
The deceased was Fazlur Rahman, 75, a resident of the Pitiapara area of the town, reports BSS.
The accident occurred around 7:00 pm when he was crossing the road.
Locals rescued him and sent him to Magura 250-bed Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Md. Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Magura Ramnagar Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter and said the involved vehicle in the accident has been seized, but the driver managed to flee.
