Robbers abduct four fishermen in Sundarbans

Forest robbers kidnapped four fishermen, including two siblings, from Pakratola canal in the Sundarbans under Satkhira range early Friday.

The kidnapped fishermen are identified as Shine Gazi, son of Bakkar Gazi, Alim Sheikh, son of Sobhan Sheikh of Parshekhali village and Ramjan Gazi and Kawser Gazi, sons of Azam Gazi of Koikhali village of Shyamnagar upazila.

Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Syed Mannan Ali said they did not get any complaint yet in this regard.

According to UNB, Sazzadur Rahman, one of the fishermen who escaped from the kidnapping, said, they went inside the Sundarbans early in the morning where a gang of forest robbers, 'Don Bahini' picked up four of them and demanded Tk 500000 as ransom for their release.
