Rotary Club of Ctg Aristocrat holds daylong activities for underprivileged people

The Rotary Club of Chittagong Aristocrat, in collaboration with GPH Ispat Limited, organised a day-long programme for poor and underprivileged people at Kumira in Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila on Friday, marking the Chartered Day.

GPH Ispat Additional Managing Director Mohammad Almas Shimul, Rotary District Governor Engineer Matiur Rahman, District First Lady Samina Islam, Rotary District Governor Nominee Dr Moinul Islam Mahmud,Chartered President Mustafa Ashraful Islam Alvi and President of Rotary Club of Chittagong Aristocrat Rtn Sadman Syka Sefa and District Secretary Rtn Akbar Hossain, District Treasurer Rtn Asadul Haque, District Executive secretary Rtn Shamsul Alam Ripon inaugurated the function by cutting a cake in the morning.

Mohammad Almas Shimul of GPH Ispat highlighted the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility, noting their distribution of free oxygen during the COVID-19 pandemic and annual medical camps for distressed people in nearby areas. He praised the Rotary Club's social efforts.

The day's activities included distributing blankets to the needy, free child health checkups, cancer screening, kidney awareness programmes, male child circumcision, girl child ear-piercing, and pendant distribution.

These activities were supported by Rotarian doctors, including Maa O Shishu Hospital's Assistant Professor Dr Rtn Fazal Karim Babul, Assistant Professor PP Rtn Dr Kamal Hasan Jewel, and the club's immediate PP Zainal Abedin Muhuri.

The Rotarians also visited the world-class, state-of-the-art plant of GPH Ispat and commended its earthquake-resistant, cost-effective new products B600CR and B600DR.

At the programme's conclusion, Chartered President Mustafa Ashraful Islam Alvi and Rotary Club of Chittagong Aristocrat President Rtn Sadman Saika Shefa expressed their gratitude to the club's Rotarians and GPH authorities for ensuring the event's smooth completion.
