Sarjis Alam, the chief organiser of the National Citizens' Committee, has resigned as the general secretary of the July Martyrs Memorial Foundation, citing 'lack of sufficient time' to work.
The leading organiser of the anti-discrimination student movement gave the information through a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
He said changes have been brought to the organogram, structure, and functional process to speed up the activity of the foundation.
“From now on, the chief executive officer will oversee the overall operation of the foundation,” he wrote.
According to bdnews24.com, Sarjis explained his decision as stemming from a lack of time to see to his duties in the post.
He wrote, “I served the foundation as long as I could give it my full time. When I began to feel that I would not be able to give the necessary time to the foundation, I stepped down from the responsibility.”
