Md Sarwar, Additional Commissioner (Admin) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), will carry out the responsibilities of DMP commissioner until the announcement of a regular appointment.
According to an official order issued on Thursday, Md Sarwar will perform the duties of DMP commissioner with immediate effect in addition to his current duties, news portals reported.
On Wednesday, Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali stepped down as DMP commissioner amid a reshuffle in the police ranks after the new government assumed office.
