Additional Inspector General of Police Md Monirul Islam has been removed from the position of Chief of the Special Branch (SB).
He has been attached to the Police Headquarters, according to a notification from the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Monirul, the former chief of the police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit, was appointed as the head of the Special Branch on March 14, 2021.
