Several countries express solidarity with BD in fight against COVID-19

Several countries including Turkey, Nepal, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Iran and Bosnia have expressed solidarity with Bangladesh in its ongoing fight against coronavirus.

Foreign Ministers of these countries discussed the issue and their cooperation either through exchanging Eid greetings or over telephonic conversation with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, reports UNB.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki, Iranian Foreign  Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Bosnia’s Dr Bisera Turkovic and United Arab Emirates’ Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bib Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan sent Eid greetings to Dr Momen, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka on Friday.

In Eid messages to Dr Momen, the foreign ministers prayed for the deliverance of all Islamic countries including all the humans from this coronavirus pandemic.

They expressed the hope of having stronger relations with Bangladesh.

In a separate message, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdullah Shaheed expressed deep shock over the deaths during the cyclone ‘Amphan’ in Bangladesh.

He also lauded different steps taken by Bangladesh before the cyclone hit the coastal districts of Bangladesh.
