Shahjalal International Airport sets fresh guidelines for entry, movement

To ensure smooth passenger movement, reduce congestion and maintain security protocols, the authorities at Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport have issued a set of guidelines for entry and movement within the airport premises.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the airport authorities said no more than two people may accompany a passenger into the airport area, including the departure driveway and arrival canopy.

The directive was first announced on Jul 25. Before that, there were no restrictions on the number of people entering with a passenger.

The authorities have also requested all passenger vehicles to refrain from staying for more than two minutes at the airport’s arrival and departure gates.

To keep the airport clean, visitors have been urged to dispose of rubbish only in designated bins and to move in an orderly manner during their stay at the airport.
