Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir’s Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) unit distributed copies of the Holy Qur’an among students on Thursday (May 15), marking the occasion of Historic Qur’an Day. The event aimed to inspire morality, humanity, and positive thinking among the youth.
The distribution program began at 12 PM in front of the university’s central library building, where students gathered with enthusiasm to receive the sacred text. Along with the Qur’an, the organization also distributed leaflets detailing the significance of Historic Qur’an Day.
According to the organizers, the initiative received a strong response from students, teachers, and university staff. “Our goal is to distribute 1,200 copies of the Holy Qur’an. So far, we’ve already handed out nearly 500,” they said.
Masum Bin Siddiq, a student at BAU, praised the initiative, stating, “I feel privileged to be part of such a noble effort. This type of activity should be encouraged at the university level as it promotes ethical and spiritual development.”
Another student, Abdullah Al-Mamun, shared his thoughts: “I’m deeply grateful to receive a copy of the Qur’an. It’s more than a religious book—it’s a guide for our lives. As Muslims, we should make a habit of studying the Qur’an and Hadith regularly.”
Fakhrul Islam, President of Chhatrashibir’s BAU unit, mentioned that the program was initially scheduled for May 11, the official date of Historic Qur’an Day, but had to be postponed due to unfavorable weather.
“With the weather on our side today, we are successfully carrying out our mission,” he said. “We are committed to running student-focused initiatives that foster a positive and educational environment on campus.”
He further noted that a suggestion box was placed at the event venue to gather student feedback. “We’re encouraging students to share their ideas so we can design future activities that support a constructive and academic atmosphere across the university.”
