Six passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, including two women, were killed after a truck hit the vehicle at Pocharbari area in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi on Saturday.
The identities of the deceased couldn’t be known immediately, as per media reports.
The accident took place on the Monohardi-Shibpur regional road in the upazila around 12:45 pm, said Md Afzal Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Shibpur Model Police Station.
Quoting locals, the OC said the auto-rickshaw was going to Shivpur's Itakhola intersection from Monohardi with the passengers.
When it reached the Pacharbari area, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction rammed the auto-rickshaw leaving six passengers dead on the spot.
