Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized a huge quantity of Indian sarees worth over Tk 30 million from the Shashidal border area in Brahmanpara upazila of Cumilla district.
On a tip-off, a BGB team of Sultanpur BGB-60 Battalion conducted a drive around 5:30 am and seized the Indian sarees worth about Tk 30 million from a pickup van, said Sultanpur Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman, reports BSS.
He said BGB's activities have been intensified to curb smuggling in the border area. The seized goods will be handed over to the concerned customs authorities for further legal action.
