A total of 48,661 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims reached the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia until Saturday morning for performing Hajj.
According to the Hajj Office in Dhaka, the pilgrims went to the KSA by 123 flights (Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudi Airlines and Flynas).
Of the total, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 62 flights while Saudi 41 and Flynas 41 for carrying those Hajj pilgrims.
A total of 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims will go to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj this year.
The number of pre-Hajj flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 118, Saudi Airlines 80 and Flynas 34.
The post-Hajj flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines is 109, Saudi Airlines 79 and Flynas 35.
The last Hajj flight is scheduled for May 31.
The return Hajj flights will start on June 10, 2025 and continue until July 10, 2025.
Hajj registration started on September 1, 2024 and ended on December 26, 2024.
This year, the cost of performing Hajj under government management is set at over Tk 0.47 million (Tk 4,78,242) under Package-1 and over Tk 0.57 million (Tk 5,75,680) under Package-2.
The minimum cost for pilgrims' Hajj performance under private management is over Tk 0.48 million (Tk 4,83,156).
A total of 941 Hajj agencies are engaged in dealing with Hajj operation this year.
The holy Hajj is expected to be observed on June 5 subject to sighting of the moon.
