An 11-year-old boy has been killed after being struck by a bus on Dhaka’s Pragati Sarani.
The accident took place near Jamuna Future Park mall in Baridhara area at around 6:45 am on Thursday, said Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhatara Police Station.
The boy has been identified as Atik, a madrasa student. Police could not provide further details regarding the victim.
According to chief Kamruzzaman, a speeding bus hit Atik near Jamuna Future Park. Local people rushed the victim to Kurmitola General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, bdnews24 reported.
Citing madrasa authority and victim’s family, the OC added that Atik was on his way home for the Durga Puja holidays.
