Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has called for a thorough investigation into the recent violence against protesters, claiming the law enforcers had shot into the movement with the intention of mass killing.

“Though the law enforcers have claimed that they used non-lethal bullets to disperse the gathering, the severity of injuries clearly tells that they used weapons to orchestrate mass killings,” said Hasnat Abdullah, briefing the press about the scheduled programme titled ‘Stand with the Injured’ under the banner of the ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’ on Friday at the Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit, Dhaka.

Abdullah criticised the interim government's response, highlighting failures such as inadequate medical care for the injured and the lack of a comprehensive database documenting casualties.

"The interim government should have provided immediate, comprehensive care for both the injured and deceased. We still have not seen a complete list of the dead and wounded, nor any substantial government action. We hold the health department accountable for this neglect," Abdullah observed.

He urged the interim government to take decisive action within the next 24 hours to ensure proper medical treatment for all affected individuals.

Abdul Kader, another coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, reported that their team visited several hospitals, including Mugda Medical College, National Eye Hospital, Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit, Dhaka Medical College, and facilities in Dhanmondi and Uttara.

Kader also warned that individuals misrepresenting themselves as ‘coordinators’ are causing disruptions and stated that legal action would be pursued against them.
