Supreme Court upholds cancellation of Jamaat’s registration

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Sunday upheld the High Court verdict that scrapped the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's registration with the election commission.

A six-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan passed the order after rejecting an appeal filed by Jamaat-e-Islami challenging the High Court verdict, according to local news portals.
