BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has held a meeting with alliance partners to discuss the current political situation and what steps the party may take next.
The “closed-door” meeting took place on Friday afternoon at the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan and lasted nearly two hours, the BNP leaders said.
Tarique joined virtually from London and spoke with leaders of the 12-Party Alliance, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote, Liberal Democratic Party, and Labour Party.
Although the meeting focused on Bangladesh’s current situation and what actions to take, no further details were shared by the leaders who attended.
The meeting came after Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus’s announcement of the July Proclamation and the election timeline on Jul 9.
