Taskforce recommends unified admission test for public, private universities

The Economic Reform Taskforce recommended introducing a unified admission test for public and private universities.

The information comes from the report submitted to Chief Advisor Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus on January 30, according to local media reports.

According to the report, a single admission test for all public and private universities, with the examination system based on internationally recognised SAT and GRE formats.

Additionally, the report recommends a complete ban on student politics across all public and private university campuses.

The task force has emphasised that strengthening primary, secondary, and higher education is essential for Bangladesh’s sustainable development. To achieve this, a coordinated effort among the government, private sector, and NGOs is necessary to overcome challenges in the education system, its quality, infrastructure, and equity.
