Teacher relieved of hall duties over facebook remarks

Cumilla University authorities has removed a teacher from his duties as house tutor of a hall over a facebook post about quota reform movement.

Sources said a group of students of Nazrul hall, including leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed a written complaint against Akbar Hossain, house tutor of the hall, for posting remarks in support of quota reform movement on July 3.

Following the complaint, the authorities concerned took the action against the teacher, reports UNB.

A four-member committee headed by GM Moniruzzaman, Dean of Arts Faculty, was formed to investigate the matter on Thursday.

"The committee will start their work in this regard next week," said Gm Moniruzzaman.
