'Telecom, information, private sectors incur losses of Tk 180b due to violence'

The Posts and Telecommunications Division, Information and Communication Technology Division and the private sector have suffered a loss of Tk 180 billion due to the violence surrounding the quota reform movement of the students.

State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak told reporters after a meeting with the stakeholders of the telecommunication sector at the Secretariat on Thursday (August 1), according to a local media report.

Initiatives have been taken to provide incentives to the affected private sector entrepreneurs, the state minister said.
