Three more people died of dengue in the 24 hours till Sunday morning, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 76 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, a new COVID-19 infection was also detected, though no fatalities from the virus were reported.
The latest dengue-related deaths were recorded in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and Rajshahi division. The DGHS reported 409 new dengue hospitalisations across the country, bringing the total number of cases this year to 19,529. Currently, 1,230 patients are undergoing treatment nationwide.
Meanwhile, one new COVID-19 case was confirmed between 8 am Saturday and 8 am Sunday. A total of 117 samples were tested.
