Three held over killing of Primeasia University student Parvez

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of Zahidul Islam Parvez, a student of Primeasia University. The arrested suspects have been identified as Md. Al Kamal Sheikh alias Kamal (19), Alvi Hossain Junayed (19), and Al Amin Sani (19).

The arrests were confirmed on Monday (April 21) by Banani Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Russell Saroar.

Parvez, a student of the university’s Textile Engineering Department and a native of Mymensingh, was killed on Saturday (April 19) during a scuffle between two groups of students on the university's Banani campus in Dhaka.

Following the incident, Parvez’s brother Humayun Kabir filed a case on Sunday, naming eight individuals.

Among the accused are three students from the university’s Law and English departments — Mahathi, Meherab, and Abuzar Gifari — along with five other unnamed students. All the accused are reported to be students of Primeasia University.
