Three people, including two students, were injured during a protest outside Bangabhaban, where demonstrators demanded the resignation of President Mohammad Shahabuddin.

The injured are Faisal Ahmed Bishal, an 11th-grade student at Shyampur Multi-Purpose High School; Arif Khan, a 12th-grade student at Comilla Victoria College; and Shafiqul Islam Selim, a street vendor.

The incident occurred just before 8:30pm on Tuesday. They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where their injuries were reported as not serious.

One Mehedi Hasan, who accompanied them, was quoted by bdnews24.com as saying, “When they tried to enter Bangabhaban, police blocked them and threw sound grenades, causing their injuries.”

Inspector Mohammad Faruk, in charge of the hospital police camp, confirmed their injuries were minor and that they were under observation in the emergency department.

In an interview with the newspaper Manabzamin, President Shahabuddin stated he had not received a resignation letter from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, prompting the anti-discrimination student movement to escalate its demands for the President's resignation.
