Three killed in Brahmanbaria road crash

Three people, including a UP member, were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on Friday night.

The deceased were identified as Billal Mia (47), UP member of Nabinagar East Union, Akhter Khandaker (42) of Sreerampur village of the upazila, and Sirajul Islam (60) of Ahmedpur village of the upazila.

The accident took place on the Nabinagar-Radhika road of the upazila on Friday night when the motorcycle collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw.

Two people died on the spot. Five seriously injured people were rescued and taken to Nabinagar Upazila Health Complex.

The injured UP member was shifted to Dhaka for better treatment. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on Saturday.

Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdur Razzak said they seized the vehicles involved in the accident.
