Three-month ban on fishing in Kaptai Lake from midnight

A three-month fishing ban in Kaptai Lake, imposed by the Rangamati district administration, will start tomorrow (1 May) aiming to boost production.

The fishing ban on netting, marketing, and transporting fish from the lake will be effective from tonight, May 1, 2025, and continue until July 31.

Every year, the Kaptai Lake Management and Steering Committee implements a three-month fishing ban in the lake to protect the natural breeding cycle of fish, ensure the healthy growth of fish fry, and boost overall fish production.

Earlier, on April 16, the district administration, in a meeting with the Kaptai Lake Management and Steering Committee, decided to impose the fishing ban.
