Three members of a family have suffered burn injuries after a fire that sparked from a gas cylinder in the kitchen of a house in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka.
The injured have been admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in critical condition, reports bdnews24.com.
The fire broke out from a leak in the gas cylinder in the kitchen around 1:0 am on Thursday, said Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the emergency department of the institute.
Ripon, 40, his wife Eti, 30, and their four-and-a-half-year-old daughter Rafia suffered burns in the fire. They were admitted to the hospital at 2:00 am.
“Ripon has burns on 70 per cent of his body, and Eti has burns on 45 per cent of her body. At least 90 per cent of Rafia’s body has been burnt. All of them have burns on their respiratory tract. They are in a critical condition.”
