Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday termed the report of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) on the 11th parliamentary election as untrue, prejudiced, politically motivated and an echo of BNP-Jammat led Oikyofront demand.

“TIB’s report is not an outcome of precise research work, rather it is a report only fabricated and concocted,” Dr Hasan Mahmud said this at a press conference at his Dewanzipukurpar residence in the city this morning, reports BSS.

He said TIB report is defective, motivational and very much identical to the statement of BNP-Jammat.

“TIB is gradually losing its credibility and reliability as an anti-graft watchdog and now found to be indulged in smearing the image of the country,” the Minister asserted.

He said TIB earlier raised corruption allegation on Padma Bridge, later it was not proved in Canadian court.

Dr Hasan Mahmud, also publicity and publication secretary of Awami League, said the 11th national polls, held amidst festivity and fair manner, was accepted in home and abroad.

He said the poll observers from home and abroad also found the election atmosphere enthusiastic and world leaders have continued to greet the newly formed government headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Hasan said the debacle of BNP-Jammat led Oikyofront in election was caused by nomination business. The front sold nearly 800 nomination papers against 300 seats.

He urged TIB to work for brightening the image of the country and abstain from making untrue and incredible report in future.
