Tk 50m worth crystal meth recovered from Teknaf

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Monday recovered one kg of crystal methamphetamine worth Tk 50 million from Hlila union in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

BGB-2 Teknaf battalion confirmed it in a press release issued on Tuesday.

While patrolling at the Obrang area of Hlila around 11:00 pm, a patrol team of BGB-2 in Teknaf saw two men crossing the Naf River with a plastic bag towards Bangladesh, reports UNB.

When the BGB men challenged them, they jumped into the river and fled across the border into Myanmar, leaving the bag.
