Vessel services to Saint Martin's Island have been suspended since Saturday morning (February 1) following two months of tourist travel. As a result, no tourists will be allowed to visit the island for the next nine months starting today.
According to the decision of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, tourists will be banned from travelling to the island until November, when the next tourism season begins. The last tourist ship went to the island on Friday (January 31).
Generally, the island's tourist season runs from October 1 to March 31 every year. But this year, the government has banned tourist travel to Saint Martin's Island two months earlier.
