Two brothers killed in Gopalganj road accident

Two brothers have died after their motorcycle was hit by a bus in Gopalganj sadar upazila.

The accident happened around 10:00 pm on Friday along the Dhaka-Khulna highway at Dumdia, Mir Md Sajedur Rahman, chief of Sadar Police Station.

The victims were identified as Ruhul Amin Khan, 65, and his younger brother Dulal Amin Khan, 57, both from Khagail village in the area, reports bdnews24.com.

Police said the brothers were returning home on their motorcycle after closing their business for the night in Gopalganj town when a Dhaka-bound bus struck the two-wheeler.

Dulal died at the scene after being thrown onto the road, while Ruhul, who was riding the motorcycle, was critically injured. He was taken to the 250-bed General Hospital in Gopalganj, where doctors declared him dead.

“Their bodies will be handed over to the family after legal formalities,” said Sub-Inspector Roman Molla of Bhatiapara Highway Police.
