Two dengue deaths in 24 hours, 394 hospitalised

Dengue claimed two more lives in the last 24 hours, while 394 new patients were hospitalised across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new cases, 108 were reported in Barishal, 81 in Chattogram, 48 each in Dhaka division and DSCC, 34 each in DNCC and Khulna, 31 in Rajshahi, and 10 in Rangpur.

With these cases, the total number of dengue cases rose to 19,923 this year, with 78 confirmed deaths. During the same period, 364 patients were discharged after treatment. In contrast, 2024 saw over 1,01,000 dengue cases and 575 deaths.

Meanwhile, DGHS also reported one new COVID-19 case with a 0.93 per cent positivity rate from 107 tests. No new COVID-related deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours. The virus has so far killed 28 people this year.
